Dr. Saunders is a developmental neuropsychologist with a clinical specialization in disorders of infancy, early childhood, and learning. He also provides clinical and school psychology services throughout the lifespan. His private practice is focused on the assessment and diagnosis of neurodevelopmental, learning, and mental health disorders.
Dr. Saunders is the Director and a Senior Research Scientist at the Ozad Institute, HDGH. In addition he consultant for the John McGivney School Authority, Hamilton Autism Hub, and Developmental Services Ontario. He also serves as a clinical supervisor for doctoral students practicing in psychology.
Dr. Saunders previously held the positions of Chief Psychologist/Supervisor of Psychology and Speech & Language Services for the Greater Essex County District School Board, as well as the Director of Children and Youth Services for Hotel Dieu-Grace Healthcare, and has over 20 years of experience working in mental health, learning disabilities, and developmental disorders.
Dr. Saunders was adjunct assistant professor for the Department of Psychology at the University of Windsor for over 20 years and was a lecturer for Southwestern Ontario Medical Education Network at the University of Western Ontario. He is currently a sessional instructor for mental health and educational psychology in the Faculty of Education at the University of Windsor.
Dr. Saunders has research interests in the areas of neurodevelopmental disorders of childhood and aspects of diagnostic classification. Dr. Saunders has been published in peer-reviewed scientific journals, presented at international conferences, and has contributed to numerous community-based conferences in southwestern Ontario.
